The new technology is used in the Netherlands, equipping roads with luminous cement. This allows saving electricity. Innovative lighting is supposed to be used in parking lots, building facades, bathrooms. You can adjust the intensity of the lighting.
In the photo above, you can see another similar solution – a luminous bike path created in the Netherlands in 2014. Sustainable technologies and national heritage are the two main themes that Dutch designer and innovator Daan Roosegaard, the author of this solution, raises in his projects. The 600-meter path is inspired by Van Gogh’s painting “Starry Night”.
This idea has been around for quite a few years, but it has not yet been widely used for various reasons. You must agree that such a solution not only looks aesthetically pleasing, but also works for the benefit of safety. Therefore, let’s hope that luminous roads will become commonplace in the near future.
