The work boiled. After 25 days, 4 rooms and an 18-meter-meter-as-out aiva with columns were ready. The roofer began to cover the roof.
On Sundays, when there were many assistants, my father and I went to Hashar to his nephew Uncle Adyla, who lived next to the stadium “Pakhtakor”. Having come to him, his father looked at the work of the master on the blue and was satisfied. I ordered me to cook clay, and said: “Let’s start with the street”.
He began the masonry of brick. By evening, the wall from the side of the street was erected. Thanks to this, I learned to put bricks from my father. I knew how to make myman’s clay since childhood: the roofs of almost all the houses in our mahalla were clay, and in Chil – Liu (the hottest days, from June 25 to August 5), the neighbors took turns making a hashar on their repair.
I did not have time to look around as September came. All university students were mobilized to collect cotton. But two days later all students of the Faculty of Mechanical were returned to the city. This was due to the fact that due to the lack of workers at the Tashselmash and Uzbeksel -Mash factories, they could not cope with the plan for the production of cotton harvesters. Since this was directly related to our specialization, we, working on machines, produced agricultural equipment, which contributed to the implementation of the plan for the collection of “white gold” – the pride of Uzbekistan.
People say that young man and forty skills are few. That year we took possession of several professions at once.
Construction skills and knowledge gained at the institute, in my life, helped me a lot. And now, in my 62 years, I am not sitting idle. The experience and knowledge helps me create house projects in the eastern and European styles. Several construction brigades build houses, mosques and mausoleums on my projects.
The natural element that overtook Tashkents rallied people, taught them mercy, responsiveness and compassion. She also showed what great gift to man is health and tranquility in the country. Now that Tashkents can afford a vacation anywhere in the world and fly to the UAE from Novosibirsk, from Moscow or from Tashkent, it is difficult to imagine what difficulty the restoration of that city after the earthquake was worth.
